More About Dr. Emmanuel Bukara, MD

Specializing in joint reconstruction and sports orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Bukara is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. With over 12 years of experience in orthopaedic surgery, he has a proven track record of successful outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Dr. Bukara completed his medical degree at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda, and his residency at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He further pursued a fellowship in Sports Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Witwatersrand.

He is a member of the Rwanda Orthopaedic Association and actively participates in ongoing training of orthopaedic residents at the University of Rwanda. He is also a member of the East African Arthroscopic Surgeons. Dr. Bukara serves as the current National Chair of AO Alliance, a non-governmental organization that facilitates fracture-management training for doctors in lower-income countries. He is currently the coordinator for Fellowship training in English-Speaking Africa under AO Alliance.
