Dr. KARAKIRE is a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at KOSH,Rwanda. He treats patients across various orthopaedic subspecialties. He is one of the few Rwandan orthopaedic specialists skilled in treating sports joint injuries (ankle, knee and shoulder), using minimally invasive technology

Dr. Karakire has a keen interest in managing sports foot and ankle conditions and deformity correction. In 2024 he graduated as a fellow of foot and ankle (sports and deformity)corrections from Asyut University Teaching Hospital, Egypt. Other than that, he engaged in various highly skilled cadaver courses abroad led by Prof. Takakura and Prof. van Djik, a leading arthroscopic surgeon in foot and ankle.

Dr. Karakire, a scholar and a teacher, he is a clinical lecturer at the University of Rwanda, and COSECSA. He is an AO faculty member both in Rwanda and in the Region. ‎
